Children of Men: an incredibly short review

Incredible story, finally something original. (It’s not a remake, is it?) First movie in a while that I walked out of and didn’t feel like I had seen something similar before.

Beautifully written, pacing was perfect, well-acted by near everybody.

Gorgeous to look at. Wow. (Check out Foreign Office’s video of all the background motion graphics they made; no spoilers but does contain hints on the subject matter. [via waxy])

Works for suspense, action, and to make you go “oh shit if that happened…” — rattles the cage a bit without ruining your whole day.

Highly recommended you see it on a big screen, or at least in a home theater with a decent sound system and the lights off.

2 People Are Talking...

  1. Samuel John Klein

No, it’s not a remake, it’s a film adaptation of a novel by P.D. James (believe it or not).

  2. Jacob Reiff

Samuel: I wasn’t familiar with P.D. James — thanks for the info. Are her books worth checking out?
